Keep in mind that predetonation increases cylinder pressures substantially over what your motor would ordinarily see running 15-16 or even 20psi.

Don't quote me, because I've never done it -- but I bet if your car never knocked, you could run 20psi all day. The problem is getting it to never knock.

When it comes to practicality however, you have to think about your goals. Is it a faster ET or just more fun? Plenty of guys are putting down great ETs with safe boost levels. If you're just looking for more fun, there are other ways to achieve that. A restrictor plate would be a great place to start.

That's why the big boost guys are running leaded race fuel.

Boweryboy's street driving video was fun but he did not get big into boost - not only because it not drivable but because he didn't want the motor to pop.

This is why the combo needs to built in perfectly-if people new my exact compression, cam overlap they would be the first to say-you can't do that with a FI application-thing is people hae been doing it for years. Guys in NMRA Renegade run cams in with 112 centerlines, even 110, buzz the motors to 7500 with hydraulic roller cams that lift no more than .550 and are limited to a 8 rib pulley and they get 30 psi out of there YSi's and F1R's. They only have 10 bolts per head like us too and they manage.

Don't forget the step ups in the F series blowers are 5.73, 5.4 and 5.0, with a 4.13 pulley the blower is at 64000 rpm and it will make over 20 psi easy. The Novi with a 2.75 is out of it's effeciency range as your spinnning far past the 55000 rpm redline-that's why no one runs it anymore in Renegade.

My first time out I was trying a completely new bracket setup-different from the one i made over 900 rwhp with. Playing a guessing game I ran a belt 1" to large and ran out of tension-now that I have the right belt on I got 18psi@5500 last night.

With some good cool weather not the 88 degrees plus humidity I ran in last weekend-I think there will be some nice times with the F1C.

Good luck with it. If you can get it into the very low 9s or hit an 8 and keep it together a great new benchmark

The novi runs like a top on the 3" pulley. Until someone can run faster than the 9.67 I did with that pulley size I say that is king in the S/C world. Now whatcha gonna do to keep from going through transmissions?

I bet you I can run faster than a 9.67 with a pulley much larger than 3" and a motor much smaller than a 402. I only have a 347, LS6 heads and intake. Not too mention it was 88 degrees plus humididty last weekend. It's going to be in the 90's this wekend or I would go out again-FWIW-I haven't seen anyone floggin there car in the heat? All these fast cars on the forum and as of late i'm the only one to post any #'s recently. There must be something special in the water up here-the Toronto C5 guys like Don and Roy have already gone 9.60's and 9.74's this summer.
