In the last week or to I have noticed that I'm losing fuel pressure when cruising around town. The fuel pressure starts out around 59psi cold and drops to about 54-55psi after about a 1/2 hour. This is in 65-75 degree air. If I get into boost it drops to about 50-52psi. It used to be rock solid at 59psi and only drop to 56-57psi under boost.
Is this a sign of a failing fuel pump? I still have the stock 2002 fuel system with a Lingenfelter pump
Put a known-good mechanical gauge on and see what it's really doing.
A number of people have mentioned in the past that sending units can be affected by heat.
My Autometer is no longer accurate........don't know the reason yet.
Fuel pumps are also affected by heat, and the fuel gets darned hot.
