Picked up another C5 today. It has a A&A p1sc kit on it and whenever you get into boost the car starts popping from the exhaust. The guy I bought it from says it needs a new fuel pump and filter. The car runs fine when it's not in boost but as soon you even get to 1 psi you can here the popping.
I am thinking the car needs a boost a pump setup.
Any ideas?

This sounds scary! The first thing you need to do is to get the car to a place that is experienced with tuning forced induction GM vehicles, and have them check it out. Do not get on it until you find out what the problem is, or you may be buying a new engine for your car! Bob
According to the guy I bought it off of he had a tuner relook at it. This car was running fine up until this starting happening and they say it is a fuel pump issue. Could it be just a fuel filter?
One other thing is the car has a speed density tune and it's a 97
Can you take it back to the so called tuner who has worked on it?
Well it wouldn't hurt to replace the fuel filter! Should only take a few minutes to do!
Mine too is done as a speed density or 2 Bar set-up!
Does it have a fuel pressure guage in it? so you can see if it is dropping down when under B@@ST?
Does it have a Air Fuel Ratio Gauge? This will help in seeing if it is going lean!
If it does not have a BAP with this set-up then it should have one and I'd pick up a MAGNAVOLT BAP, it is what I'm running too plus it's easy to hook up and it'll go right into the battery box area!
It is also a simple job to replace the fuel pump, it's right behind the drivers rear tire. Just pull the rim and the cover panel over the tank and remove the pump but make sure you remove the float first so it'll come out! Once your there doing it you'll know what I mean!

How far are you from the San Fernando Valley?
Thanks,Matt
Nope on the fuel pressure gauge
Nope on the air fuel meter
The main reason I ask is I bought this donor car with intentions of of swapping it out into my 97 coupe but there a few things I wanted to ask about the setup before I uninstalled it. This car is a A4 mine is a M6 not that is matters. I have Efi Live and I was going to drop this tune in but I am now having second thought about doing that. I

What about taking your fuel pump and dropping it in the Doner for now to see if it is the pump or something else?
Did you check to see if the fuel system has a BAP or not already? It will either be in the Battery compartment area or behind the drivers rear wheel under the wheel well panel! All might be good just need to find out why it is popping under load!

Again it could be timing too!

One big thing. The car is showing P0103 code. It is set to emission only but the code still shows on the computer. Does that take it out of speed denisity mode?
Did'nt see a BAP anyware. I wasn't sure on a 97 if you really had to have one or not.
Do you have EFI live if so I could email you the tune file.
Thanks for your help. This donor car I bought is my 8th C5 but I am new to the F/I part
From: Tinker till it blows... then back it off a notch, maybe!!

Sorry for the late reply! I am using HP Tuners! But it looks a if you are moving forward!
A BAP is necessary to your set-up! It should run fine on the A4!
As stated above your P0103 Code is normal! Wont turn anything off with the SD!
Are you changing everything out of the Doner to your current set-up! I still don't have the complete picture yet as to your project!

Yeah actually I pulled 90% of the blower kit today only left a few vacume lines that I need to deal with.
The Donor has a Fast 90 and ls2 throttle body and 42lbs injectors. I am thinking about selling it and picking up a Ls2 Intake and use the difference for the tune.
Only a couple of other things I need to pull such as the LG long tubes and pipes and the rotors.
