Hey guys,
Returning from Afghanistan in April and planning on going FI on my '02 coupe (M6 with 3.90 DTE gears). I live in Albuquerque, NM - do you recommend ECS or A&A and why? Is there someplace close for the install and tune?

I would imagine you will have a Hard time Finding Someone in Afghanistan to Hook You up with an Install But if U are talking about New Mexico Then Jason Or Aka CajunDude ,is in Tx ,& I wouldnt Hesitate for 1 min to take it to him for a ECS install
Both ECS or A&A make great equipment and both also have superior customer support as I have items from both shops and they are just the best in the business

Seven responses and not one contrasting either product line.
A&A sells the ECS Novi kit. They have also done turbo and N20 projects.
ECS, of course, has done all of the above and has a more extensive record at the drag strip.
Now, I -assume- the question is which supercharger kit is better. The A&A Vortech or the ECS Novi 2000.
If that is your dilemma my personal vote would be for the Novi 2000. It outflows the standard Vortech head-unit and is quieter.
From what I've seen with the Vortechs you need to replace the head-unit when you want to step up the power. With the Novi 2000 you can remove the restrictor plate and pulley down the head-unit and go into the 9's.
Ultimately it's going to come down to what your goals are with the car, the size of your budget, and how much future upgradeability you want without changing head-units.

We were just waiting for you buddy We would also install an A&A Vortech if thats what the customer wanted. I think the whole forum knows that we and Andy are good friends and can and do work together so you wont (hopefully) see any bad mouthing. We are lucky to have 2 very good tracks local to test our products and as well as a lot of customers that enjoy drag racing. I dont think you can go wrong with either of our products. I think we have both proven to be an asset to this forum and no matter who a customer chooses they wont make a bad move.
I have owned an A&A kit, and have only seen an ECS kit.
The "Quality" of parts used in the ECS kit make it a clear winner over the 2.
Setting head units aside, the ECS kit utilizes significantly better parts. The idlers, brackets, tubing, radiator support, etc etc. EVERYTHING is upgraded wayyyy over the other kit.
From that stand point, the ECS kit is by far the better bang for your buck.
About 6 months ago I would of said either kit is great-but now I must say I would go the ECS route. First off you will never have to upgrade the head unit-the Novi is good for 500-850 rwhp. And second and most importantly-the brackets! The ECS Novi brackets are are work of art-tensioning the belt is as easy as turning a 9/16 wrench-seriously they are just that much better!
