Default Super Hi Flow Nitrous Valve question

There's a port on the valve where you can install a pressure gauge but I wanted to know if with a full bottle and the valve closed is there any pressure at that port? I have a gauge I want to install but I have a full bottle right now so I was hoping I could install it before I go to the track tomorrow. I'm installing a bottle heater with I pressure switch and I want to be able to adjust the pressure switch so I have the right pressure since it's getting cooler outside now. Thanks for any help.

Some bottle have open ports, some have closed ports. Newer NX bottles have open ports, but the older bottles have closed ports, this change was a year or two agp, IIRC. NOS bottles for quite a few years have been open port. The open portsa are much safer, reason being is the fact that it can register pressure when the valve is closed. The older bottles that had closed ports, if you were heating your bottle the transducer could not see the pressure and could over heat the bottle and rupture the safety disc. So, likely, you'll need to empty bottle first, do not second guess which style you have. One more thing, the open ports allow seeing pressure when valve is closed also.

I thought the open ports were always pressurized so I guess I'll just wait until I empty this bottle out and then I think I'll put the transducer in the open port and put the guage in-line by the solenoid under the hood since I don't really have a lot of space for the adapter to put the gauge by the bottle. While I was waiting for a response to this thread I went a head and installed both the gauge and the transducer on the adapter by the bottle and got it all adjusted so I can go to the track tomorrow and see what it runs. Thanks for the info.
