The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Eltoro - I think that you are correct!!!!
That's a broad subject
, there are all out race All-Motor C5's (solid axles , powerglides) that have gone mid to high 8's . No disrespect to anyone's accomplishments , but technically the quickest and fastest All-Motor IRS C5 ran a 9.4 at 140+ mph (Calvin Baltimore) , that was with a max effort full race engine with C5R heads , 442cid and Big Stuff-3 engine management .
A car from Georgia has gone 9.92 at 136 , Dan's gone 9.93 at 136.9 and my car 9.95 at 137.81 , all of these times are documented with timeslips and video . So it looks like Cartek still has the "fastest" documented All-motor MPH for a street C5 , and that was done with "old " technology ( motor built in late 2003 ) , with the evolution of LSX performance parts over the last few years , I'd like to pick up a second C5 FRC and have Cartek build me another nasty All-Motor combo , can't afford that for a while though
. All of these NA C5's are bad-azs

I don't race in order to argue with people about times, engine builders, weight reduction, or anything else. I race because I enjoy it. If everyone at the track runs quicker than me then good for them. I set a goal to run in the 9s with a N/A A4 C5 that I could still drive on the street. I did what I set out to do and I'm proud of that. I don't have to put others down to feel good about what I have done.
