Anybody have a problem with these leaking? Im debating on not putting the o-ring in there and just using the washer. How are you guys installing yours. O-ring, washer, then bleed screw? I cant put any kind of torque without squeezing the o-ring out. They should have a groove or something for the o-ring. Any help is appreciated.
I am using one and NEVER have had a problem with leaking. Some guys "Claim" there is some sort of leaking issue, but mines been in and out a few times with ZERO issues.
Mine didnt come with an Oring. Only a crush washer. I used the crush washer and some permatex thread sealant (not loctite) and its worked flawlessly.
Yes the permatex resists brake fluid. I wouldnt run any type of RTV. Not in that location. Just head on over to PepBoys. The permatex is in a small white tube. Its right about the same size as the loctite stuff. It works perfect.
Its also great to use on other stuff that requires sealing ,but not needing "Thread Lock"

Let me tell you that I made my own...a knock off of Charlie's which I suspect is the same as LAPD's....I mean how much different can any of them be.
Anyway I was in a hurry and forgot to put on the crush washer....sure as crap it was leaking a little drip (at least I teflon taped the threads). I had to take my torch out and heat and bend wrenches to get up to turn it in maybe one more turn to get it to stop leaking...it stopped leaking...but was a major PITA..took me like 4 hours.
Do yourself a favor use the crush washer and some thread sealant....other then that it worked flawlessly.
It cost me $50 bucks for material to make my own.....I would have just bought one from Charlie, but I couldn't wait 5 days for it to get to me in the mail...I had to get the car back together and to a few car shows...I worked up to a few hours before the first one....which I happened to be a winner at.

The crush washer is a must. The machine marks on the slave is a recipe for disaster.
I just did one for a buddy, and I even went as far as taking a small polishing wheel to the surface of the slave. I didnt need to make it perfect, just enough to take the ridges off of the machine grooves.

I had a problem because the vendor shipped me the kit with the wrong thread coupler. I questioned the fit, but was reassured over the phone... it didn't work.
So they sent me a new one (with the correct tip) and the crush washer + permatex thread sealer works fine. It was a PITA to do the R&R with long-tube headers. BTW, the bleeder end did tend to weep a little unless you really tighten. I ended up putting a brake bleeder style cap over the end which avoids any potential mess.

I had the same problem with my LAPD remote bleeder. The end where the bleeder was leaked like crazy. I had to keep loosening and re-tightening really hard to get it to slow the leak down to the point where I could put in some teflon tape to stop the leak.
I called and complained and they sent me a replacement for free, but I have not swapped it out yet.
I would go with the one from RPM Motors (Charlie) as his is a one piece design and less chance to leak.
I used only the crush washer and some Permatex thread sealer (like AHP) stated. No leak problems except bleeder end, which I cured with teflon tape.
I'm going to test my remote bleeder before I install the next one to make sure it does not leak out the bleeder end.
