Meth Activation Question?
I recently purchased an ECS meth kit. I had it installed and tuned by a reputable shop.
It activates and, sprays under normal driving conditions. Even in high gear under light throttle at approx 2300 rpms. I don't have a boost guage (I know I should) but, nevertheless this seems early to me. I could be wrong and this may be normal. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Because it should not it should only spray under B@@ST!
You may have to have it adjusted and I would call Julio at ALKYCONTROL and ask his opinion on what is going on!
It will probably just be a setting adjustment! Either under the dash on the PAC or at the **** inside on the ALKY controller!
Thanks,Matt
I draw this conclusion because the light mountd on my pillar begains to glow. And I am going through meth under normal driving.
This is not a fault of the kit by any means. Like you said, it was either bumped or set incorrectly. To keep the ***** from moving accidentally you can put a small rubber o-ring underneath the *****. That will provide additional friction and make it more difficult for things to happen without you knowing it.
If you have a way of checking air/fuel, do it. Your car could have been tuned with the methanol coming on early -- in which case you would not necessarily want to make it come on later. My gut says you are probably safe if you made it come on later (many guys tune for 11.5:1 or 12:1 or whatever their target is all the way across the RPM range when you can run leaner early and not necessarily have an issue) but I would never advise anyone to just change something without knowing what is going on with fueling, timing, and KR.

In the PAC controller there are two *****, the "turn on" adjusts how many pounds of boost it turns on at, without knowing your boost you have no way of knowing what it's set at. I usually leave stock cars around a three # turn on.
The second **** is the "initial", thats the amount it starts spraying at.
The gain **** is the seperate one and that controls the rate of climb. Very basic, very easy to tune, very effective.
hope that helps, it's reasons like this btw why we recomend guages. It's almost more for the tuner than the user, but if the tuner is happy, the owner is happy.
btw, small increaments on those *****, they are sensitive.

If the Turnon LED illuminates Red when you turn on the ignition, then you need to turn the "Turnon" control CW until it goes off.
