Default Am I screwed???

Car hasn't been making boost. Thought maybe it was a leak or bypass valve. I crawled under tonight and did the D battery in place of the bypass valve and took it for a spin but still no boost. As I look further up in there to see where to change the sc oil, I noticed oil! I pulled the cap on the sc and didn't see any, so I went to put some in . . . . . and six ounces later it still wasn't full!!!! Have I trashed my head unit? The main pulley still turns and it sounds like it did when I had it tuned. Am I buying me a new head unit for Christmas?

Well if the compressor wheel is turning (i.e. it's not seized) maybe was just low on oil. What is the oil capacity of the unit ?

BTW, I know the units are rebuildable. I think it's time to take it to a professional and let them take a look at your system.

Maybe your seals in the compressor are bad and that is why you are getting no boost.

Have you taken off the charge tube and checked to see if you're getting airflow out of the compressor (head unit) ?

I took it off at the throttle body, and yes there was air flow but couldn't tell how much. I am taking it to the professional after Christmas (I am going to FL until after Christmas). I was just trying to eliminate possibilities first. I don't think it is the bypass valve as it made no difference with the D cell clamped in. I have found no noticeable leaks. I just hope the head unit is OK!

I would go over ever single connection from your blower to intake before you pay someone to do it. even though you dont see any leaks it can be a fitting that leaks under pressure or just a vacum line.....

Every blower I've owned leaked a little oil, If your wheel is still spinning, I would also check shaft play.

It seems to me that you may have just blown a hose off. I have done that a few times and you will not make any boost, only reason I knew it at the time is I was under pressure and it popped and you can hear a loud psssss.

Also it looks like you have the procharger kit with the dual intercoolers? If I am right my buddy has that kit we changed the filter from behind the radiator to Andys kit where you lay the radiator down. He gained alittle over 20 rwhp on the dyno by moving the filter.

If you've been running the head unit that low on oil, I'd have it gone through anyway, even if that's not the reason the system isn't making boost.
Don't risk having it put metal shavings into your coolers and into your motor at some point.

Just a phone call away to ProCharger and see what they have to say at least to set your mind at ease for the weekend!

Sounds like an internal leak now!

Thanks,Matt
