Scotty, if you do this, are you going to Overspin the Air pump?

Your idea with the BAP would make it spin faster wouldn't it because it'd increase voltage to the pump or am I way off on this?

This product was designed as a simple wiring solution for the 3 Delphi air pumps listed in our ad based on pre-existing customer demand in the Turbo Buick market (Grand National's) for D-I-Y EVAC systems.

The amount of vacuum achieved will be determined by the air pump(s) used, plumbing components, configuration, how well a motor is sealed, supply voltage, etc.

We are only supplying a simple and reliable means by which to power these pumps. No more no less. Everything else is D-I-Y.

A BAP may be used to get more air flow. It would not cause pump failure because it would only run for short periods of time under WOT. Given the cost of a BAP it would be MUCH cheaper to run a second pump instead.

Yeah Buddy Overspin that Sucka I feel that may be the easiest way to increase vacuum from what most say is minimal in which case it could underperform and may never achieve it's objective. Hell, it may not be enough anyway, but worth a try before it goes into "useless parts box" BAP to increase vacuum??...I've heard worse

I'll have a BAP lying around when I upgrade fuel system. I use it not not a big fan of it

As stated before there is no problem running a BAP with a Delphi air pump. You will not over-spin the air pump. Over-spinning a DC motor is a poor choice of words. A DC electric motor is not typically over-spun. It will typically run faster as more voltage is applied. A BAP will not produce enough voltage to overheat the pump motor based on the short bursts of operation / WOT.

There were two groups of people in the Buick crowd. One group that had never tried it and sat there all day posting misguided theories in an attempt to convince the masses how it could not work. The second group of people are the ones using the EVAC system who sat back laughing at the first group replacing their oil pan and rear main seals again and again. Chances are the Delphi pumps will not produce enough air volume / vacuum to increase HP BUT they will definitely help reduce oil loss.

Yes, there is the odd chance the system will not work for some people. It would not be any great loss considering the minimal cost of assembly. People have spent far more on questionable items in the pursuit of performance enhancements.

I appreciate your responses her today!

I put in my purchase today for the one to fit my '98's pump!

I will be using it in conjunction with the other evac system on my SuperCharged set-up!

I will post my results and how I did it! Perhaps with some pics too!

It is a good idea it will and should eliminte a decent amount of pressure, I mean look at it this way if it is sucking and it is hooked to the valve cover then it will suck out some pressure!

I look at this way it is like running METH it can be looked upon as a safety device! or extra precaution!

Thanks for the kit and the link once again!

Thanks,Matt

The theory seems solid, solid enough at least for Racetronix to make a PNP harness for this application. I wonder what other blower/vacuum (possible auto or truck) motors might be available that could take this to the next level??...Good Luck Matt

Racetronix, do the pumps hold up fine to having oil inside?
What do people do with the pump outlet? Run it to a catch can, have it exit under the car, or what?
