Default Return Fuel Line

I just finished converting over to the 97-98 fuel system and was wondering if anybody put any kinda of heat shielding on the fuel lines? Would this help at all or a waste of time?

Thanks

What type of heat shiel are you thinking? Reflective tape?
Did you run the line in the stock return area?
I can't see it being that much of a help as the line runs in the tunnel which will stay warm regardless of heat shield. I would think a heat shield is to protect something from extreme heat of which the fuel line shouldn't be close to. As long as it's run in the stock aea it should be OK. Plus the circulating fuel helps keep it cooler. But just my thoughts...

I had some extra heat wrap from my header install... so i zip tied some on the bottom line.. I diddnt "wrap" it, but have installed like a V... Basically trying to shield the bottom from rising heat, but also allow heat to escape from the top? Probabily doesnt do anything, but i feel slightly better that i did it.

Figured if you wrap it, you are also holding IN the heat, right? I was under the impression that most of the "heating" was from the underhood temps, but i am sure tunnel heat doesnt help.

You can use sheet metal as a heatshield in areas where there is a heat source, but if the is no threat of heat then don't waste your time!

Thanks,Matt

The only thing I`m doing while its apart is protecting the fuel lines from the remote bleeder braided line. I read a post a while back about somebody almost having a major problem because the remote bleeder was rubbing on the fuel line cutting/chafing it like a saw. I`m not gonna chance that with the new bleeder going in.
