Default SPA gauge issues

I have the SPA boost/fp guage installed and I cannot get it to read anything above 0.0 on either channel. I have zeroed out both and both will read negative values. This is with manually applying pressure/vacuum. Is there some secret here I am missing or is mine defective. When I got it the back of the gauge was slightly dented. The box was fine so it wasn't damaged during shipping. After a while of thinking that the boost part didn't work, I found that they mislabeled the two wires that go to the sensors. I am not finding this to be a real quality part at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated.

Their one of the highest quality gauges on the market. I have never found a gauge better than the SPA. But like anything, sometimes they can break.

Just zeroing out the gauge doesnt calibrate it. Look in the manual. It will explain how to calibrate the system.

Also, both sensors are universal. They can be used either way. The wires off the gauge is a different story.

If you need help, shoot an email to Brian@ICSPerformance. He's their distributor.

Thanks for the reply. I have read plenty of good things about these gauges. That is why I bought it. I was not happy with the two wires being mislabeled. Other than that, I would think that they should work out of the box without having to be recalibrated for the sensors it comes with. Having the option of recalibration is great, but some things should work out of the box.

As for the calibration, I looked at the book and the voltages are set to what the instruction book says for a "standard SPA 16 Bar pressure sensor." I guess I will shoot Brian an email for further instructions since I did buy it from him.

I have not been able to solve this issue at all. I cannot get either the fp or boost to read anything above zero. They read vacuum fine. Could anyone give me specific information reguarding any values for calibration. I have looked in the book and the numbers on the gauge seem correct for what I see in the book. I have contacted Brian @ ICS performance and it wasn't any help.

I am about done with this thing if I don't get it to work soon. I will have to try to get my money back, but that may not happen since it has been over 30 days since the purchase. Either way I need to get a working gauge even if I have to consider this a complete loss.

Thanks.

Call Brian back and ask for the number of the gentlemen he knows at SPA. They were a big help to me, sent me out a new gauge imediately when I had an issue. Gauge is perfect now!! Good Luck!
