Anybody seen this?

or is this an example of fatigue after wear and tear?
the only diff I blew up was under a single high stress event
and it seems thats how most corvettes go boom too.

That is a hard one to believe that happened! I actually thought that perhaps the owner had the gear set changed to a 3.73 or something and perhaps it let loose! But if it is stock then it is a wonder

Thanks,Matt
I had a buick fold the crank coasting to a stop with no load. it happens!

I'm not sure this was the case, but its something to look into.
BTW, who's gonna tune your car now that Doug walked out?
Re: the differential strut~
Make sure the strut rods of the differential strut kit are installed properly in that they *pull themselves together* when tightened/adjusted, so the differential is being "pulled" towards the transmission.
If they are installed and adjusted improperly to where some or all of the strut rods are "pushing" themselves apart, you will have effectively pre-loaded the differential in the wrong direction, causing the differential case to distort- which eventually leads to catastrophic differential failure. Proper installtion/adjustment of the strut rods are paramount to the correct function of the differential strut kit.
*This we have seen happen from negligent installers that didn't follow the directions we provide them in the kits. I don't know if this is what happened in your situation, but it is something worth investigating to be sure the differential strut is installed/adjusted correctly, or you will have the failure again..
We cover all of these installation guidelines clearly in the kit's instructions, but if you require a bit more assistance to install, just give us a call. 260.407.5455
