Whats the max psi one can run on an '02 stock LS1 with 1 3/4in long tube headers, offroad xpipe, without affecting long term driveability or reliability?
Only As a guide...when ATI/ProCharger sells their P1SC kit for a Stock 2002 LS1 engine (as you have) they will only warrant it when set to no more than 7 psi of boost.
Now, many have found that with smaller pulleys, larger capacity injectors (42# or 60#) and a Great tune, you can go to 10psi on a Stock 2002 LS1, but that is border-line safe on your engine. Carelessness, or mistakes at WOT could be all it would take, and clutch life may be shortened. It all depends on how you drive it..
As long as it's tuned properly and not tuned on the ragged edge. You tune it in cold weather and go out in the summer and hammer it, you might find out it had too much timing as well as how much a replacement forged bottom end costs! It's all in the setup and tune. Your vehicle will only be as strong as the weakest link.
