i thinking of adding nitrous instead of a s/c to my c5 with the following
cam 231/234 .640/590 112 lsa also have z06 intake and
precision race components stage 1.0 ls6 heads,bult trans with 3200 stall.my ? is how well will a
100/150 shot work,also would i benefit switching from 315 gear to a 373
gear.
thanks jim

Reason: oops
Should be fine on a 150 shot with the proper setup. Heater, wideband, window switch etc. I don't like changing gears in cars that make good torque. Your car on spray will make good torque. It also depends on how much time you plan on spending racing vs. driving on the street.
Use his panel, get a window switch, a good nitrous kit with a bottle heater and possibly a remote bottle opener and have it tuned with wideband. I prefer a target AFR of 11.3:1 with full bottle pressure. It will be safer that way. As for timing, I am not sure how aggressive the factory computer is on timing, so I can't tell anyone if removal of timing on a 150 shot is necessary, but it is typically recommended that you remove 3-5 degrees for a 150 shot. Go with colder plugs. TR6's gapped at .030 or so should be good.

I may have to double check but when I asked him about a month ago if he could tune my nitrous car he said hes not to comfortable doing it and when I was down there this summer at his shop I didnt notice or hear of any nitrous stuff. Either way, Im in no means trying to argue
You are mostly right about everything else but the standard gap should be .035
The gear will definately help you out, but it probably wont be a huge amount. I think it depends how much you drive your car on the street. I am biased and love the blower, but with nitrous, it will be easier to hook the power when you are not spraying, which is most of the time on the street. On the blower, I can spin the tires at about 95-100 in fourth (this weather) or about 60-70 in the summer. It is still fun, but you really cant use all of the power unless you are on the interstate, and then you are flying before you hook up all the way. (I run street tires year round because I drive it a lot on the street). On a DR, you will be able to hook it much better, but they are only good for warm dry days.
