Default How to hold the power???

Ok guys the car is almost ready to be out of the shop and I got my tunner telling me to pick it up on WeD. to put 500 miles on it before my dyno tune.

I have a A&A D1 H/C Setup and the car will make around 600RWHP. I have a CCW DRAG PACK on the way and some nice Hoosier QTPs, looking to beat any record out there on a stock bottom end, with some great ET times.

Obviously with a hard launch the stock rear end won't work, my tuner told me to get some output shafts and a brace.

Last year on H/C with a 17inch hoosier I was able to get some low 1.5s but obviously buying the drag pack to do even better.

What do you guys think I will need to get the best 60s and not break anything major???

I have around 2-3 weeks to make up my mind and do it while the car is in the shop for the tune. Don't want to be breaking anything when I know it wont hold.

Thanks

KAMIL

Traction is good for helping find weak links. ( by seeing what breaks).
I would do what your tuner says. Also, possible torque tube upgrades.
1.5 60's is a good time and I'm impressed you did it without upgrades and got away with it.

Output shafts and a brace are a must and with a drag pack and a hard launch you will go thru your rear and tranny pretty quick,

If your packing a manual tranny gonna be hard to break any stock bottom end record. The auto cars set the bar really high..

If I will go swaping the trans and rear end pretty quick what do you guys recommend I do that I wont have to worry about anything major and will run the car w/o any issues?

If money is no object. Go with a Level 5 tanny + mainshaft from RPM and get the best rear end from DTE. Add a DTE brace and go racing. Might as well rebuild the torque tube while you got it apart.

I am surprised you made it this far without breaking something.

What is the manual Vette IRS record? Good luck on your goal!

I think you will find that no matter what parts you have in the driveline the technique you use will be the most important factor when it comes to breakage. There are certian things you just DON'T do when launching the car.

If you were cutting 1.5x - 60's before w/o breaking on a bone stock rear, now that you have the drag pack and are adding a brace I think you'll be fine for a little while. But like the guy above said, traction will find your weakest link, lol.

good luck on your quest.

I am not sure what the record is for a stock bottom end boost car on the forum, but I will go after that all of this year with a manual trans. I will call RPM and see what they say.

Any of you guys break anything with a brace and output shafts only and if yes what were you launching at?
