I am rebuilding my engine and LME is doing all of the machine work. They recommend LS7 lifters. I have looked everywhere and sdparts.com ( scoggins and dickey ) has the best price at around 108.00 a set.

Same here...prior to that I was just using my 01 stock LS6 lifters....I only changed them because I did a refresh on the motor last year and they were only like $120 to my door. The only reason to buy the CTSV "Caddy" lifter is if you intend on reving your motor to 7K+ rpms. They were developed because of the CID requirement and the only way to ring more power out was to increase the RPM...so they work really well. But interestingly when I compared the picture of them to my original LS6 lifters they looked very close to the CTSV lifters..both were significantly different then the newer model LS1 lifters used from 2003+...I may be wrong on the year. The new LS7 lifters are the standard LSx replacement lifter and is what I am currently using.
I haven't had any issues using either of them.

If I'm not mistaken there is no difference in the current LT1 vs. LS1 vs. LS7 lifter. The Caddy Racing Lifter has lighter internal parts, and revised oil passages.
I'm running the caddy lifters. No complaints, which is just the way it should be.
