Default Forging an LS1

This year my performance shop (Canadian Performance ) is upgrade my car to a forged 402 which leaves me my older LS1.

I was thinking of forging my LS1 over the winter time and keeping this motor for a future install...My question is "How many forum member have made GOOD hp with a forged LS1 with say a P1, D1 series blower or N/A or would a better selection would be an LS6" or is its a waste of money?

Thanks

Ron

TONS!
There is a difference between the LS1 and LS6 blocks in the webbing I think. From what I understand, it's a matter of preference and each has a supporting reason. I'm pretty sure my engine builder likes the LS1 over the LS6. We were just talking about that last week.

I took my '98's block and had it Forged to a 347 CID (only good to go 5 over on earlier blocks).

I'm laying down a moderate 639 RWHP and 540 RWTQ and it is strong as could be

So it's not a bad idea to do

Thanks,Matt

Pretty much the same here as Mike. Took my LS1 out to 383 cid w/a full forged Lunati kit & @ 14# my F1-R puts down 752 rwhp. If I'm brave I'll swap pullies for 17# & hit 828 rwhp but I can't get the power to the ground ( but it's fun trying!! ).

The L6 is a better block. Better webbing and breathing.
