What kind of boost controllers are you guys running on your FI systems?
looking to purchase one and i'm wondering what is the best brand for the money. I would like a multi stage boost controller. So many choices so little cash!!!!!!
I know a lot of people on there probably run an electric boost controller but my personal opinion is that a good manual BC is hard to beat. Reason being is they are almost idiot proof to install & use, unlike some EBC's that require an engineering degree to setup. With an MBC you just install two lines, or more if its multi-stage, set your boost and go. Very reliable, cheap and effective.
I APPRECIATE YOUR FEEDBACK I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THE MANUAL ONES AND I HAVE TO SAY I AGREE IDIOT PROOF IS GOOD. I ALREADY HAVE THINGS IN MY CAR I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE NOW WITH THE NEW TURBO SYSTEM BOOST-A-PUMP, ALKY KIT, TURBO TIMER, ALL THE GAUGES SO I DON'T NEED ANYMORE COMPLICATED EQUIPMENT IN THE CAR TILL I GET USED TO EVERYTHING ELSE. AGAIN THANKS FOR THE ADVICE. JASON
The problem with the manuals is the spring actuation.
I do believe the stepper motors in the better ebc's react much faster to minimize boost spiking.
I do know the manuals work, but I prefer the ebc, using an hks evc4, may go to the hks evc6.
I have a Blitz unit that came with my used turbo kit. What I like is you can regulate your boost for what ever MPH which is real handy for the street if you have a traction problem. It also has a bunch of other features including playback. They are not cheap. Now if I could just figure out how the damn thing works.
