Default FI Experts, Come inside Please!!

I am a newbee to forced induction and was wondering if you guys with experience can give me an opinion on a car I'm buying or tell me what to look out for. Here is the description by the owner,

2003 Z06, black with mod red interior. Let me first say that you WILL NOT find a stock paint C5 that looks this good. I have spent hours and hours polishing out the black paint and have this car totally dialed in.

I think there is one nick on the hood and other than that, the paint is basically perfect. There are literally NO SCRATCHES OR SWIRLS on the car. It really looks unreal. The black is just as deep and glossy as some paint jobs I've seen on much higher end cars and show jobs. It looks like you can dive right into it.

Just hit 18,000 miles. Clear title, no accidents, no paint work, no issues or stories.

MODS include:

A&A Procharger kit with front mount intercooler, upgraded Vortech blow off valve from A&A, upgraded injectors from Andy, upgraded spark plugs and a lowered thermostat, Dewitts radiator, Textralia OZ700 clutch, Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump, Lingenfelter hardened output shaft, Autometer fuel pressure and boost pressure gauges in A-pillar pod, mesh screens over the rear exhaust areas and lots more. I'll add more as I think about it.

I have the A&A invoice as well. All parts were bought new and installed by the prior owner, also a forum member. No short cuts were taken -- this car was built perfectly and runs flawlessly.

TUNING was done by HP Tuners and was performed by Phil, known across the country as possibly THE premier tuner on boosted Corvettes. The tune is, as you would guess, FLAWLESS. The car runs like a stock car until you get on it. No surging, no bucking, no overheating issues at all, especially with the Dewitts radiator.

The Z made 547.4 horsepower at the rear wheels. That was through an entirely STOCK exhaust!!! (I have in my signature that I have LG longtubes and a full 3" exhaust. This has never been installed. It's going on the next car I think.) This car is a major sleeper. You can just slightly hear the blower whine. Other than that, you'd never know that the car has close to 650 horsepower!!!

Give this newbee some insight and am I getting in over my head or is this a well built car? I was told it was tuned on the conservitive side to be safe and run fine on 91 if need be. We have 94 here so that shouldn't be an issue.

here's the dyno chart,

Sounds like a good car with good parts and good hands have been on it. Now you just need a good price. The numbers that it is making are reasonable and can be improved if you choose to turn it up. It's a darn good start. Andy at A&A is on top of his game. I just bought a system from him.

It sounds GREAT.. The ONLY problem is, is when someone dumps that kind of money in a car ,and is THAT Meticulous, they tend to be unrealistic when it comes to pricing... (not saying this one is)

I would NOT buy it if the seller is trying to recoupe all of his costs on the build. Cause if that were the case, you could do it yourself. I do not believe a properly built car is devalued by its aftermarket parts, but I do believe they can EASILY be overvalued..

If the price is in line with what your comfortable, jump on it!!

But..... Be smart. Check for leaks in the blower, signs of blowby, do a wet and dry leakdown, visually inspect the valvetrain, and top it off with a compression test..

You could PM Phil and see what he thinks of the car and the install.

seller is definately not trying to recoup all of the cost of the build. I have negotiated a very fair price. Excuse my ignorance but what is "phil's" user name so that I can send him a pm? I think I'm going to ask the seller to take the car to Synergy Motorsports and have them inspect it for me since I'm 2000 miles away!

Thanks guys and stay tuned...

I contacted him and he said when he worked on it, the car was as close to perfect as can be. Hopefully a year and a half and 3000 miles didn't change that! I will hve the car checked, compression etc. and hopefully be on the FI train shortly!

Does anyone know what P1SC runs at (PSI)??

Thanks,

Tyler

Anyone know what the compression should read on an LS6 when doing a compression check???? Also, what PSI does a stock P1SC run at??

Thanks again!
