Blower Option questions
The options are Procharger, Kenne Bell, Paxton Novi, Maggie, and Vortech correct? Looks like we have 2 types here, the Kenne Bell and maggie as twin screws and the procharger, paxton and vortech being centrif. Therefore the kenne bell and maggie will make a lot more low end torque correct and be a faster overall car pending traction with the same peak numbers as a centrif. set-up?
How are these units oiled? I am sick and tired of dealing with oil feed and return lines that deal with turbos, i hate the fact how they heat up the engines oil and all and put your engine in jeopardy if anything were to happen to those lines. So my question is, which of these units are self contained oiling units, and which use feed and return lines from the engine?
Do you guys experience any heat soak with any of these kits? I have read a bit about people heat soaking with the kenne bells so therefore if you give it one good hard run, you have to wait for it to cool down before making another to not sacrifice a ton of power.
WHat seems to be the best bang for the buck kit with reliablility a number 1 concern for a stock bottom end ls1/6? I really love the howl of the kenne bells and the idle whistle of the prochargers, but reliability is the number 1 concern. Thank you for answering my questions

Kenne bell= twin screw, you have 2 different options (2.6 or 2.8l) with this bad boy, depending on your vehicle year. For pricing reffer to this link below. IMHO if I was to go with a pd blower this would be it, and I damn near did go with it, the only thing that held me back was price at the time. Remember you will need to change your hood and paint it with the kenne bell or maggie. However with the kb, there are a lot of upsides, self contained unit, bypass valve, and as you already know instant boost and torque to go with that. Problems are heat soak, questionable tech support unless you talk to the forum dealer that is in the link, he is a great dude, who is willing to take the time outta any day to help a person with a kb question, hood and price. Badass for sure though

Maggie=Roots type pd blower, not as efficient as the kb. Price is lower than the kb, still suffers from heat soak, still need a new hood and paint on it, and is limited to the 500's to the wheels (until the new tvs units arrive). The good side, needs a smaller hood than the kb, cheaper, and more people have them, and can help with tech and questions. Price?
Vortech= great units, the only real choice as far as I and many others are concerned for the vortech kits is to go through a and a supercharging from oxnard, CA. Andy is a great guy as well, and stands by his products all of the way. You can get either self contained oiling or the older engine fed oiling, and there are several levels of headunits available for different goals. Best priced units on the market for the c5 low to mid 5k. Includes everything including fueling stuff.
Novi 2k= Great units as well, the best way to go this route (the only one I believe) is through the guys at ECS they are awesome there, and provide incredible service to anyone, whether or not you pay them a penny in the long run. Well put together kit, the only kit with stock bottom end guys in the 9's
. The cost is definitely more than the a and a kit, but that doesn't stop anyone from getting their product. Top notch as well expect to pay in the low to mid 6k range for everything (like a and a the kit contains fuel stuff etc...)Procharger= Factory kits, or old style a and a or ecs kits are available, all are self contained and all new ones from the factory are overpriced for what you get. The ecs and a and a kits offer more things that you need, better support and a better design hands down. Pricing?
And that about sums it up for the blowers. With any of these blowers on a stock bottom end with a base kit, expect to be around 500-550 to the wheels with the proper fueling, a good tune, and upgraded valve springs to handle the boost. It is really up to you, as they are all good choices, and are not all of that far apart on price.
