Default How to measure boost

I recently installed the ProCharger P1SC system. I ran a vacuum line into the passenger compartment, and use a PLX SM-Vac/Boost sensor
http://www.plxdevices.com/products/sm/vacboost/ with their DM-100 display http://www.plxdevices.com/products/dm100/.

My question is how to really tell the amount of boost I see. When I run it hard, I see at least 7.5 on the display; but, the display also has a PEAK display mode. On this, I see that I am making 8.5 PSI!

Is is normal to say I make 8.5, or 7.5 with this setup?

assuming that gauge is calibrated correctly you're making 8.5psi, so thats what I would say.
if you wanted you could qualify it with the words peak or max but most people should know what you're talking about.

Maybe peak is stored from a previous run? I peak out higher at night (cooler air) than during the day. I always try and remember to reset my peak so that i know what I just did on the run. If not it will hold the peak number for a good deal of time. Heck, I bought my setup used and it held the previous guys peak number ha ha.

My PLX stuff only keeps the Peak information while the car is running. When I shut it off, all the electronics get shut off. No memory is stored.

It might be that the peak level is reading a short spike that is too brief to be noticed or displayed on the guage.
