Calling all meth junkies
Has anyone tried it (m5) compared to your regular base methanol you get from speed shops. Better yet has anyone tried any of the M series from VP, care to share results?
M1™
M1 Racing Methanol has a 99.95% minimum purity - the highest purity available in the U.S. With M1, engines run cooler and are less subject to corrosion. VP uses only lined drums which prohibit rust, corrosion and metal deposits that can contaminate fuel delivery systems. Recommended for all methanol-legal racing applications.
M3™
Like M1, M3 starts with methanol of the highest purity, but includes lubrication and combustion additives for an extra boost. M3 offers a wider range of jetting options, making jetting easier and more consistent. For bracket racers, variations in ET from run to run will be substantially reduced. With better tuning and cleaner, more efficient combustion, M3 makes more power and yields better throttle response than any standard methanol on the market. M3's improved combustion also reduces the noxious fumes associated with methanol fuels, so it's much easier on the eyes and nose. For 60-70% of methanol applications, M3 won't require jetting or timing changes-just pour it in and get an immediate performance improvement in all areas. In the other 30-40%, M3's added vaporization may actually hurt volumetric efficiency and performance, which is what lead to the development of M5. M3 is not pure methanol and won't pass a water test.
NEW! M5™
M5 is simply the best performing methanol on the market. Using nitrated compounds to make more power than M3, M5 will also offer the same or better protection against detonation. Like M3, M5 offers a wider range for tuning and will offer the same consistency run to run as M3. M5 also reduces noxious methanol fumes, although not quite as well as M3. M5 is not pure methanol and won't pass a water test.

99.9% pure http://www.cqconcepts.com/chem_methanol.php
The guy selling fuel talked me into the M3 no noticable difference and I did not expect one. I buy it 5 gallons at a time so it was only a minimum price difference. The important thing to me was too not feel any adverse affect running the M3 meth. Car running the same as it did with M1...
And thats all i got to say about that

i think i might be gettng hosed at the sight i listed

BTW, just picked up 5 gal of M1 for ~$25.00 last time it was shipped it was around $70.00 for the same 5 gal.

Haz-Mat sucks!
Q. Can M3 or M5 be used with a methanol injection kit?
A. I'd use regular methanol like VP's M1 for the injection. This is what I personally use. All you are using the injection for is to cool the air charge. This is how you get more power, because you can add more timing or boost with a cooler charge. M3 has a hydrocarbon in it and won't pull the heat like M1. M5 has a hydrocarbon and a combustion additive. I would definitely not use this. It could have bad results by combusting in the air inlet tube between the turbo and the throttle body. M1 is your best choice.

Have not seen a need, as of yet, for a change!
What would M5 give me above the M1 in the way of RWHP or will it be a mind set and a peace of mind on any issue of detonation?

Thanks,Matt
main reason I run M3

It cools IAT's as good if not better than any other fuel I've ever used... Texas heat has been a big test of this... in 105*days my IAT's are mid 80*'s...
The car makes 713rwhp S/C only... I think this speaks volumes for M3's ability to get the job done...
p.s. $8.50 per single gallon here at the local race shop or $7.50 for minimum 3 gallons
