Default Experts please help!!

I picked up my first FI car a few weeks ago. It is a 2003 Z06 with an A&A P1SC Procharger kit. It has a single front mount IC as well as Dewitts rad and 180 degree thermostat.

It was recently tuned at Synergy motorsports and made 589/501 on their dynopack chassis dyno.

I have run into a problem with heat! When sitting in traffic on a 100 degree day, fresh black-top (car is black as well), I watched the coolant temp steadily rise.

My mechanic checked the fan relays, fuses and wiring and all appear to be fine. I had my mechanic check the fan operation with his scan tool. The low speed turns on when commanded as does the high speed. However, when both are supposed to operate at the same time for some reason the drivers side fan turns off?? Does this sound tune related? Can someone point me in the right direction?

We also had to re-mount the rad as it was literally falling out of the car. Damn thing was loose and the mounting was lackluster at best.

I would appreciate any input I can get on the fan issue. I can get a local tuner to adjust the fan settings so if that's all that it is it won't be a big deal.

Thanks

could it be a bad ground connection? Can someone point me to where the ground source is for the left cooling fan?

At what Temp did the fans come on? Ask Rosy if he bought HPtuners yet-then I can look at the tune and help you out if need be.

For starters, take it to someone familiar with Vette cooling systems .

Both fans operate in low speed as well as high speed but just at a different RPM. The system uses 3 fuses and 3 relays to do this operation. In a nutshell, in low speed mode the fans are wired in series to kill 1/2 the power to them. In high speed they are run in parallel for full juice. A guess would be one of the relays or the connector in the fuse box does not have enough tension to make good contact. This assumes all 3 fuses checks out good.

Phil and Arun,

Thanks so much. I will check the relays/fuses myself once I get the car back on Saturday. If I can get it working properly I'll post up.

Thanks again,

Tyler
