Default T-Trim 383

I have a A4 LPE 383 stroker with a A&A SQ S-trim kit and makes great power early. I checked my dyno sheet between 5800 rpms and 6200 rpms I only make 7 hp more on 9lbs of boost. I called vortech and told them my pulley size and they said I'm out of air at that rpm. I'm going to go to the T-Trim and 8 rib, run 12lbs of boost. I want to know if I'm going to lose power and my quick throttle response down low with a bigger blower or is my engine big enough that I won't notice. Now at 575/525 converter unlocked.

Thanks

You will be fine. I had an S trim and now running a T trim on 346. I have noticed the T to be teeny bit sluggish at the lower RPMs for a second or so. It REALLY comes alive after 3500 RPMS and hit hards at the big end and build boosts all the way upto 7k RPMS

You could go with a smaller pulley and restrictor plate to keep your boost at 12 lbs but get more power lower in the rpm range.

What pulley size?
I sent you a PM with a vortech prepared report comparing the S and T trim. The last two pages have charts and should address your questions.

James, thanks. That was some good info. I think i'm going to make the change, it depends how much louder the T-trim is. Vortech just came out with a SQ-SI trim that flows 1150 cfm. That might work, haven't heard much about it, but it's only been out for about 4-5 months. I'll let you know.

Thanks,

Lee

I had that set-up breifly (383, T-trim), it made 617/540 @11.8lbs. It had a 3.4" pulley and no resistrictor
