I wouold like to see a pic of this restrictor plate i hear so much about. Im am interested in purchusing one and i would like to know how much they cost and how they bolt up. Thanks mike
It doesn't bolt up. It's snug fit into the air cleaner and is held in place by the intake tube/bridge. As far as cost, the best thing to do is call ECS or A&A.
Just a snug fit will not stay snug usually and the plate will either drop down inside the filter or go sideways. You need to support it with either a second side plate with screws to keep it in one place or 2 small zip ties wrapping around the inside edge and then through the filter media edge which will hold it in place (how mine is and works just fine).
Some filters do have a underneath "shelf" the plate can rest on but usually not.
I had the same concerns, so I made a new plate with "wings", and bolted it to the inside of the air cleaner. Plate gets dislodged, and the motor might be toast.
At the time of the photo, I had a second smaller plate mounted to the larger one.

Doug - Have U ( or anyone ) done some back to back dyno runs comparing the use of your plate? My understanding is that it will help get the blower into boost a little sooner but at the expense of some loss of top end power. I'd like to see how much power is "lost" ( or perhaps "delayed" is a better word ) at the higher rpms so that I can more easily make the decision as to whether or not it fits my own needs.

P.S. Found this thread & although it doesn't have dyno sheets it DOES add some pretty good info. "search" is my friend!!
What happens if I make intake piping same size as restrictor size ?
its inside diameter is 2,75" .
From filter to supercharger 2,75" piping, in the end near novi pipe that makes 2,75 to 4" so it fits SC , is this same as big 4" intake piping with restrictor or is it not... ? Problem is that I cant put filter to standard location beacuse of custom install and have to use smaller pipes ... logically thinking, airflow should be same, beacuse max diameter allowed is still 2,75" so it should not matter ... is this limiting car power somehow or not ?
It seems that there is not much info on that case, I did the search :-/
