Please Help.
I recently bought a LS1 04 c0nvert with Glen Carroll Blower Blowerworks installed Vortech supercharger. The drivebelt pulley came loose and threw the drive belt and ac belt. Is there anything I should be looking for as to the cause of this. All the idlers and the pulleys are operating freely including the supercharger. What would cause this to happen? Any help will really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim
Make sure the balancer/dampner isn't coming off or falling apart. If the balancer wasn't pinned, it's even more likely to spin the bolt off from the tension placed on the belt when running under boost. Also check the idler pulley between the power steering and balancer.
i had a carroll kit on my car... it has brass compression rings that hold the pulley on. I would look at the shaft where the drive pulley attaches for burns. Feel free to email me.

The problem was the balancer! It fell apart. Judging by what I'm reading in the repair manuel it's going to be quite a job to replace. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction

It's really not that bad. You could do it in a day taking your time. It's time consuming, but not that difficult. PM me if you have any Q's about the job.
