Default Need help with decision!

It is time yet again for me to ask for the corvette forum FI section whic is of course the best section for their advice. I have just purchased a 6.0 LS2 block, just the block. I will have it here in a couple days. I am torn between doing a 370 set up for my Top Mount Twin turbo set up. Which has been atop my stock bottom end thus far with very good results which you can see on my signature. Or a stroker motor set up. I know I am on borrowed time and hate having my heart clentch every time I step into the throttle and boost up waiting for it to go pop. I know what the next question is what do I want to accomplish, Well I want good mid range torque for those occasional highway pulls. I would also like to be able to put up some respectable numbers at the drag strip also. So I am going to be spraying about 100 shot, and I want to be able to run about 15 to 18 psi. So let me know what everyone thinks especially like info from fellow turbo guys. Thanks in advance for all your help. Long live boost. Jason

the torque from the stroker might cause you more traction headaches than its worth, I'd just put got pistons, rods and fasteners and stick with a stock crank if it were me. You'll make more than you can use on boost alone.....and you have the juice available for instant on torque...

Well, you know what some say........You can always turn it down, but you can't always turn it up. You can make more power on less boost and spool the turbos more quickly with a larger displacement too. In other words, it might be easier on the engine with the extra displacement because you will be able to achieve the #'s on less boost. If your budget can take it, do it!

Dude, go stock cubes LS2...it wouldn't matter if you build a 500cid motor I know you are going to want 20psi Remember too, now you will have to further upgrade your fuel system to feed the beast

As is most always the case in the C5 FI section..."More Is Never Enough"

Turbos like displacement over stroke. Your going to have your hands full on the bottom if you go with a stroker.

I know!

So you're saying that the stroker motor will be too much for the turbos and is absolutely not necessary to achieve as much power as the turbos will yield or the car will ever be able to handle, so his extra stroker money would be better spent elsewhere? I know you have much experience in this arena and should be listened to. I consider Jason a friend and am therefore asking for clarification on his behalf.

I used to have a partnership in an import shop.....

Should have learned from all the turbo cars we did. When I did the Vette I elected to go with a 382 stroker. The car on the bottom end with the snails is out of control.

Save yourself the money on the crank and go with displacement or put it elsewhere. That is unless you want to go sideways on the bottom and not be able to hook up.

Yeah I know I said that I was going to stick with what I have for awhile and just enjoy it, BUT after feeling 20lbs of boost those couple times I have to say 10 to 11 just isnt the same. Even my wife said it we were going down the interstate and I needed to get around a tractor in trailer decided to get around it quick. kick in my whapping 10psi and my wife looks at me and say yeah it is fast but it just doesn't feel the same. So call me hooked. I am a speed freak and moddaholic. And thanks to bambi running into me expensive bosy shop estimates and this forum I have alittle extra cash to make me forged motor happen. So at least 18psi here I come!!!!! By the way I didnt purchase the other motor. I ended up going on LS1 tech and Bought complete short block with rotating assembly for less and the guy lived about a hour from me. I am going to pick it up SUN. Then off to the machine shop it goes. Thanks again everyone. Jason
