Default C5 or C6

I'm planing on buying a vette later next year, and turbo charging it. Now if im doing all that work to it is there really any reason to spend the extra money on a C6 over a C5?

Sure. You're less likely to have to replace things like alternators, water pumps, weatherstripping, paint and body, bushings, seals, etc.

Then there are the styling differences. Which do you prefer?

Resale differences.

Etc.

LS2 is stronger and will make more power too.

How can you prove an LS-2 is any stonger than an LS-6? Oh yeah, in case you don't know, a LS-6 makes 5 HPs more.

Newer generation block, more displacement means it doesn't have to work as hard for power, and there's a few more 700rwhp LS2's than LS1's.

He didn't say Z06, he just said C5 or C6. The way he asked too, implied he didn't want to spend money on the z06 versions...

Nope. That's just the ratings. Not reality on a dyno.

Ls2-ls3 found in the C6 have a better computer for tuning.

No I don't want the zo6, looking at a auto coupe. Plans are 650-750whp on pump gas. I went for a ride in roadrebel's vette a year or two ago and was hooked. I'm just wondering if either (c5 or c6) have more benefits once you start changing things. ie better trans, rear end more power. Especially with the price difference between the c5 and c6.

big downside to the c6 right now is the 6 speed auto which doesn't have the strength for much above 550-600

go with the older 4 spd and have rpm build it and you'll be fine

I like the ls3 block and heads. "mini ls7" and overall very strong.
