Default Oil leak problem

It seems like every time I drive this car a new problem pops up. My frustration level is pretty high and I'm beginning to think I should have just left it stock.
The latest issue is a pretty bad oil leak that happened the the last time I got into boost. It seems to be coming from the right front of the engine. It drips pretty bad even at an idle. I thought maybe either the corner of the pan gasket or the timing cover. The area around the main seal is looking dry. Is there a common problem area that I should check first?
I am running the oil cap breather that came with the TTi kit. Should there be a need to add additional venting? The car just went through multiple dyno runs and didn't show any problems at that time but I did crank my boost up a little after that.

The gaskets used in these engine don't leak very offen. Are you sure its not dripping off the vented oil filler cap? I've seen on the dyno on some of the higher boosted cars the valve covers fill with oil then the cylinder pressure get by the rings and will push oil out of the vent on the oil cap. It may be as simple as upgrading the pcv or installing a check valve if there is a bit of boost getting by the pcv. Maybe give me a call and I'll look at it for you if someone here doesn't come up with a better ideal. George@TTI

Thanks George. It doesn't look like the vent dripping. After I got home and let it sit for a while I started it back up and at an idle and it started dripping pretty bad again. The top of the engine is fairly dry with nothing but the usual fine film above the level of the deck of the block. The oil is concentrated down by the idler. Didn't I tell you about my luck!

Sounds like a blow by problem when you are getting into boost. I had the same problem and solved it with a breather and a catch can.

I'm almost positive that if you take your inlet tube off it will be full of oil.

Default I had that problem

Not saying this is it or not but,I had a cam installed in my Kenne Bell S/C'ed car, when I drove it home 65+ miles it was leaking oil from the front of the engine, from up high also,i thought it was the timing cover also, took it back down to the tuner and took everything apart again and put on a new another new cover, drove it again and sure enough it was dumping oil still, well we took the S/C'er off and for some reason the oil was coming up from where the knock sensor are, both of them were ful of oil,for some reason the seals were letting oil come up,not sure why or how a cam install caused that to happen, but that was the problem with mine, new seals installed and no problems with oil since.
Look close to the front of the engine just below the intake and see if you have oil just under it,thats where I would see the most oil,try to take a picture and post it and I'll see if thats how mine looked.good luck.

if the timing cover is not flush with the engine block its where its leaking...the leak is always on the drivers side...make sure you put a bit of RTV at the joint

I'll have to check it out later and see if I can isolate the area of the leak a little closer. When these problems pop up I don't even want to look at the car for a while.
