Default external waist gate location

hi to you all i am having a dillema were do you put an external waist gate on a turbo
1- after the exouhst
2-on the headers ( colector pipe )

need your help

The wastegate should be installed in the collector in front of the turbine housing. If your using just one turbo it can be installed in the crossover pipe too.

so it should be b4 the turbo in the so it can exhoust energy thus slowing the turbo down and droping boost presure or wheel rotation speed
but in the case of the photos here it is placed after the turbine housing

what setup is it on? what turbos are you running? is there an reson you cant run internally gated turbos?

it is LPE and there is no space for any thing lager than a GT2871 and i am installing GT3076

The location of the wastegate is also determined buy the exhaust hsg, if it has provision for internal or external wastegates.

As you can see a hsg that has no provision for a wastegate passage would need the wastegate before the turbo.

I would contact them before you do anything they may be able to get a different turbo or hsg possibly. I do know there are not very many options for T25 flanged turbos however.

I ran a pair of these on my APS GTO with a forged LS2 stock displacement and made 797 to the tire at 17psi

http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=GRT I was told by ATP that this is a much more balanced turbo than the units you have, the larger compressor you have will easily put even more back pressure into the small T25 flanged turbine hsg.
