The Hood was the final decision maker for me between KB and Maggie. That and at the time some guys were dealing with some high IAT problems with the KB.
And yes for a street car 500+ rwhp with 3.42's is severely traction limited

Yeah, but you got the nice Caravaggio Blower Hood. The KB Hood just sucks IMHO which is why I'm going to a centrifigal or maybe a new TVS system.
Saw an ad in Vette Magazine this month from Dragon Racing for there new system that fits under the hood, however no info up on site.
Too bad these small time shops don't have a good marketing team.
I don't know, The KB is bigger and comes all the way back to the windshield whereas the maggie hood is a lot lower towards the winshield giving you a clean sight area.
There are worse hoods out there, but I think the big bulging hoods really take away from the vettes profile.

I like my maggie C5, I would be more concerned that it made it to a dealer. I would say talk to the original owner and if it all checks out, the and the price is right then go for it. You never know maybe the last owner spent a ton of money on proffessional mods and just wanted a new ZR1 or Z06 and did not want to mess with selling his. But I would not trust anything the dealer says, have the engine and compression / leakdown verified by an indipendent shop and talk to the original owner. (not like a dealer would ever lie to sell a car.
Hey guys, I actually talked to the dealership over the phone and they said the previous owner traded it in for a brand new z06. I might take a look at it this weekend..

Good Luck but do not believe anything the stealer says.
If you check it out run codes on the DIC. It's a quick way to see if anythings going on. A lot of stealers clear the CEL but don't take the time to clear H codes.
Couple guys have said to get the previous owner info from the dealer. Probably not gonna happen. The last thing they want is for you to call the guy and find out how little they gave him for the trade.
Go through the glove box look under the seats and you may find an old insurance card or receipt for an oil change or something. Sometimes I find the info stuffed in the owners manual.
Next if you do manage to contact the previous owner he may not be entirely truthful either.
So check it out carefully. Also in a case like this you have the perfect opportunity to get the stealer to throw in an extended warranty at NO extra charge.
#1. Im not a fan of magnachargers at all, I dont like there design.
#2. I would never buy someone elses project. You never know what is where, what is jerry rigged and whats not. Knowing where evertyhing is, is very helpfull if somthing goes wrong. Relays, Fuses, you never know where someone might stick that ****.
Especially with a built engine... Is it fully forged or is it just a rods/pistons engine? Mabey just a pistons engine? Unless you have reciepts from the builder you will never know. Also, was the machine work done right? Were the mains align honed? Were the bearing clearences set? OR, did someone just ball hone the bitch and slap it back together with some forged slugs? OR was anything ever really done at all and the shortblock is factory stock?????
Not that really does not make sense. You would NOT walk away if it were a KB but item #2 says that you would. I understand that you just don't like Maggies and will find every reason to crap on them. That does not help the OP. Actually, if you have all this experience with blowers you could have been helpful by telling him what to look out for regardless of the brand. I for one agree with your #2 reason unless you have great documentation or know who owned the car.
