started the car today...it kept stalling ??? after the 4-5 try it stalled again and smoke started coming out of the fuel door area....took it all apart and near the area is my msd pump....all cooked at the side of it...
like there was some short or something?? the inner fenders are on the car...and i haveant driven it in any wet weather for a long time....
any ideas why this may of occurred?? I am gonna upgrade the system to the dual pump...glad it wasnt some real real ugly failure like it could of been!!!
been threw this,
ground has to be at the battery,both is good.also start with the pot full CCW.then go up, should read around 70-78 lbs.if it shoots up for no reason or load, it is the ground.call MSD tech and ask for a new one,or rebuild yours, if there is still a prob.

thats good info mike, thanks...I have the bosche 420 pump with the hot wire kit and the msd pump...and I am not too thrilled with the noise it makes...plus the Lonnie kit is good for up to 1000 rwhp....its quiet and I dont have to crank up the voltage up on it...so I think it should last a lot longer...so I want the upgrade...I have a built 402 with a paxton....and it aint exactly slow . I just have a gut feelin that I should be doing the upgrade. I am actually very happy with the bosche pump...but I think I am gonna need more fuel once I get the
nitrous kit on the car...
i'm not there yet,
i just wanted a 550whp or so daily driver.here in mobile they are all on the bottle.with the turbos i never have to re fill.
it's a hoot to drive
