Default Self contained for me?

I have one of Andys kits purchased and it's shipping in a few days. I originally have the V-2 SI ordered, but I already have the crank pinned currently and would need to remove the rack again to tap the pan. So, my question is- would you just go ahead and get the V-3 and make life easier or what? My car sees less than 4k miles a year and changing the blower oil ain't no big deal. Thoughts?

JMHO, I would never run a blower that used the engine oiling system.

If you have the extra money it would make life easier.

Self Contained - you can't go wrong with it!

I am happy with my set-up that is self contained and will always keep themseperate

I have a V2 blower but if I had my choice I would do a V3. I think the oil has to changed every 12k so that is 3 years before you have to change it or to be safe maybe once every 1.5 years.

So can a engine oil fed type be converted over to a self contained type? I have always wondered this but never called Vortech to ask them. I have oil fed type and would never do that way again if given the choice.

Good, I guess I just needed someone to tell me what I was already thinking. Looks like I'll be making the switch.

Vortech techs say if you are road racing/ long track time oil fed is better as it will stay cooler according to them. For street use mostly self contained is fine they said.

Mine is street/strip. The 3400 triple disk stall says so!
