408 motor with d procharger-old setup(dual intercoolers and old bracket)Tensioner chirps after a while-tried using a c6 tensioner and same type of noise. Is this noise problematic or just annoying?I dont want to change to whole belt setup-its 8rib and aligned nicely.Someone said try SDCE-anyone have advice? Thanks

The SDCE setup is for F-bods. I would try a Gatorback or Dayco Polycog belt first-cheapest solution.

Guess I'll try it-I imagine as any other new belt it will stretch and have to be retightened.Funny how some years ago the concensus was gates green stripe as the way to go which is what I am using.

In every application where the belt slipped, I replaced it with a Goodyear or Dayco Polycog and no more issues.

I am noticing now the noise comes on after about 3miles of driving-seems to be comming from the head unit area.Changed unit oil recently-hope its not that c6 tensioner someone recommended.Nothing wobbling-belt looking straight with no wear-just that chirping pulley type noise.

Hey! Did you ever find the culprit?

I had the AC tensioner and idler squeeking and I thought it was the P1's tensioner but I was wrong and all was good after i changed the suspected tensioner

Thanks,matt

Probably because the belts harder-which means it's not soft, so they slip. But hey we make 900 rwhp on the Gatorbacks on regular basis.
