Ok to run without a down pipe/wastegate pipe attached??? I'm troubleshooting my vibrations and it's a pain to work around the APS kit. I've taken the down pipes/wastegate pipes off the car, and was planning on doing a short run with some idle revs to check for a vibration, nothing more. Is this going to cause any problems or issues by running with the backsides of the turbo's open like that?
I'd say you could leave them open coming out the back but I'd put the wastegate on.
Yes, the APS kit has a separate pipe siamesed with the down pipe for the wastegates.

This is only going to be about a 30 second run. Start it, let it catch idle, throw a couple of revs to 2000-2500 RPM, kill it. Just checking for the cyclical vibration I'm chasing down.
The exhaust will be hitting the waffle styled aluminum heat shielding. SHould be ok. Just a PITA to redrop the manifolds to put the DP's back on to test run for 30 seconds before pulling it all apart again.
Good news is at least I dind't have to undo any of the oil/coolant feed lines to do this.
without wastegates how do you plan on regulating the boost?
Because the tubes that divert to the wastegates are wide open, so in theory it shouldn't make any boost at all. Besides, I'm not looking to load up the motor, just start it and throw a couple of revs at it to see if the vibration is still present as I remove items one at a time.
