Default another procharger question

Must be the week for prochargers.

I have a P1 and just bought a D1 from a guy who had it on a C6. Well, silly me didn't know the C6's hang them in a different direction. If I am looking from the front of the car, my P1 outlet is at about 5:00 pointing towards the driver's side. This D1 would be at about 4:00 and pointing straight down. And the drain plug would not be on the bottom.

Is this what is meant by the term 're-clocking'?

Reading some older threads and a pdf on A&A site (I have the A&A bracket)

Sounds like with this newer style D1 (label on the side), I do not need to reclock the slinger. Just need to rotate the discharge tube to the correct position and move the oil fill and drain plugs to the 6:00 and 12:00 positions.

Can anyone confirm this?

Reclocking the P1 and D1 head units is an easy task. Just pop the case open and becareful of the seal and just move the oil slinging gear to your A,B,C location. You will need a new dip stick if you go from the A to B position or C to B. You will be ok if you clock it to A or C position. I hope this helps

All you need to do is to loosen the bolts and rotate it to where the discharge is where you need it. Bob

Thanks Bob. I'm sure it will make sense once I pull it apart. For the A&A bracket, which letter (A, B, C)?

Thanks for hooking me up with the pulley too! U da man.

I'm just finishing up re-clocking the blower (P1SC-1) for my new A&A bracket (waiting on an input shaft seal from motion). I went from position B to Positon C. Use Andy's instructions from his site and you'll be fine. Like the others have said, be mindfull of the small rubber o-ring running the circumference of the gear case.

However, if your tag is on the side like the one pictured in his instructions, all you'll have to do is move the drain/fill plug positions and rotate the volute wich is real simple!

Good luck and PM me if you need help!

Tyler

edit: Which bracket do you have, his newest one?

Not sure, what's the difference b/t old and new bracket? New D1 has the label on the side. Here is a pic of the P1 and bracket

I'm no expert but it looks like you have one of his earlier style brackets? With my blower and his original bracket, the slinger was clocked in the B position. You may want to PM Andy or Steve and see what they say regarding your set-up!

I think you need to clock the head unit to the A position for the new A&A bracket.

You are going to need to "re-clock" the head. Your D1-SC is currently a 10 o'clock reverse unit. Your bracket needs a 12 o'clock reverse head unit.

Since you have been looking at some old posts I have no doubt you have found the instructions Andy has put out to "re-clock" the head unit. Take your time in doing the re-clock and you should be just fine. If you do not feel confidant in re-clocking the blower your self Procharger will gladly take care of it for $137

Hey buddy with the bracket shown in this pic you need to reclock the slinger to the "B" position. Then rotate the volute to the proper location.

Gil,

B position is how my head unit was clocked with that bracket.

I just buttoned it up today after re-clocking and replacing the input shaft seal. Hopefully I've done it correctly! I believe the proper position for Andy's new bracket is position "C", correct?

I'll post pics of the whole deal once it's back in the car and buttoned up!

Thanks again!
