I have a a&a kit with 490 rwhp I have found a leak in the rear of my tranny so since I need to take it down should I put on this brace and new out put shaft or is this a waste of money?
with street tires you have to get very agressive to have problems with output shafts and or need a tranny brace, if you are planning to hit the Dragstrip much in the future then it would be a good idea.
on the other hand if you are removing the tranny and diff it would be easier to install this stuff now. also the clutch will most likely go before the output shaft. it is all about the weak link and right now the weak link/ safety fuse is the tires with that said if you are driving very agressivly all it takes is the right combonation of a grippy surface and a hard clutch dump to kill an output shaft and or flex the diff.
bottom line is that you can kill just about anything if you try but some people are running much more hp/tq and have no problem with the stock diff.

What year is your car?
If it has one of the 3 rib rears I would not worry too much about it, but for what they cost... cheap insurance.
