Default Do I need.......

Just had a procharger installed, was told I needed a harmonic balancer, then found out it wasnt installed due to the fact that i had MENTIONED upgrading the block in the winter. I was told "we'll just do it then" Is this important now that I already have the supercharger installed, and in my opinion, is not running right. Also should the spark plugs have been changed to a cooler set? Don' think this was done either. Any and all information is encouraged!!!!!

Usually, witht he extra tension needed for a ProCharger, the OEM balancer starts to wobble. It has a rubber center. I have my OEM balancer running for 8 months before I switched to a new one.

We dont change the balancers on stock engines unless there is a problem with it. We do use a colder plug though. Just make sure the balancer was pinned.

The ProCharger should of come with a Pinning kit for the balancer - it needs to be pinned or you could spin the balance on the cranks shaft - not good

You should "NOT" need to change the balancer out if it is not wobbling - "DO NOT" buy an "UNDERDRIVE" balancer - you will loose B@@ST, if you decide you are going to do something other than stock then I suggest an "OVERDRIVE" balancer for the FI - it will increase B@@ST!

Many of us use the NGK TR6 plugs gapped around 35 for FI! you should give these a shot!

Who did your install? Who did the tunning? Which plugs are in there now? Did they pin your crank? What were your final numbers on the Dyno?

What do you mean it's not running right in your opinion? Which Injectors are you running? What Pulley size are you running on the ProCharger? What is your B@@ST at right now?

Answers to these and other questions will help us help you out better

Thanks,Matt

I now have an Innovator's West 10% OVERDRIVE balancer, with a 4.38 pulley. I upsized my pulley on the ProCharger from a 4.00 when I went up on the balancer to keep from over boosting!

Mongillo Motors did the install and the tuning. NGK TR55 plugs are in it now. Crank I'm pretty sure wan't pinned. Final numbers were.....
488 ftlbs 532 hp @ 11.4 lbs of boost. It also has 60lb injectors. not sure on the make of the injectors. Plus they actually didnt charge me from upgrading the 45lbers to the 60 lbers. Theres hesitaion, when I'm excellerating at the higher R's. And I have a vibration that the car didn't have before I had all this work done, they're telling me it's because of the spec stage 3 clutch, and all its rotating mass. Please Help!

If the crank is not pinned then it needs to be and make sure your crank is NOT wobbling either and all your brackets and bolts are tight - this could cause some of the vibration too! Just take the time and give it a once over with your tools!

You might want to put the TR6's in, make sure they are gapped at 32-35 "NO MORE" if they are set to the TR55 @ 50 gapped that could be causing you other trouble - hesitation and vibration - It not an absoloute but it is a start!

Now with 11.4 PSI of B@@ST and making 532 RWHP and 488 RWTQ on a stock motor sounds about right (I am assuming yours is stock - right? )

There probably is more to be had with a better tune and the 60 lb injectors. Is it possible to take it to another tuner to check your tune?

This would be worthwhile, it's what I have had to do in the past too! Let me know what you find - sorry it took so long to get back to your post

Thanks,Matt

I still run 60# injectors so no worries. That's a great upgrade freebie IMO.
