Dialing In Quicktime Bellhousing

Finally getting around to putting my tt car back together.
Is it necessary to dial in the bell housing (quicktime) before putting everything back together?

Not quite following the question.

I just bolted mine on.
I did trim the bottom a bit for ground clearance.
No issues.

the object is to align the driveshaft (torque tube in this case) even with the crankshaft to prevent premature ware on the throw out bearing and viberations, etc. Im thinking the two opposite dowl pins force the alignment to be proper but it never hurts to ask

That's what I thought you meant, but the blowshield tolerances are pretty tight, so I don't think it is any issue.

I agree, that is the purpose of those dowels.

I've had mine on for many thousands of miles and no indications of any problems.

It's a niece safety mod.

I bolted mine up (PIA) and had to grind a bunch off to clearance for the driver side merge collector. 2'' kooks make it a bitch to do anything. lol

I'd like to cut an inch off the bottom that sticks out. Got a speedbump in my neighborhood that hits if I go too fast, and rocks your marbles hitting there!
