How hot does an Intercooler get?
im using a Vortech t trim with 8lbs max.
Im wondering how hot the FMIC gets?
What im trouble shooting is the outsie air (not the chrged air that feeds the engine) that passes through the FMIC.
Im working on an engine cooling issue and im wondering if the FMIC is 'front loading' the outside air before it hits the radatior.

In our heat, the FMIC obstructs the radiators air very heavily.
The way around the problem, is to do a couple of things.
1) Create a wedge between the I/C and radiator at the bottom
2) Modify your radiator with a lower scoop to help direct the air through the I/C
3) Install a larger aftermarket radiator
4) Cut open the license plate shroud
Unfortunately, FMIC's in the western heat hurt more than help. But with the right modifications, you can at least make it manageable.
I wouldnt worry about how hot the I/C is getting. That is not your problem.
Let us know if we can help at all. We've spent the last 4 years focusing quite heavily on S/C and engine cooling.

The intercooler temps are based on charged temps. The lower the boost, the lower the charge temps. The go up almost linearly to a point and then rise exponentially. My charge temps after the intercooler at 18psi and without meth were 175 degrees at the end of a 1/4 mi run, so before, an efficient intercooler should be seeing temps of 280 plus at that amount of boost. I would expect your charge temps to be significantly less at the lower boost levels.
