Default Still battling heat issues. HELP!

temp out side was 100:
I have a dewitt radiator and fan set.
I have 2 permacool 10" by 14" with 1000CFM fan on each. (one for tranny on for oil)

I was not driving "spirited" I did hit boost 5 or so times (for 1-3 seconds) but i never floored the car
I went for a 30 min drive 10 mins in traffic (not bad traffic at all just average stop and go). About 7 mins on the freeway and then turned around and came home.

by the time i parked in the driveway i had the following temps:

oil= 230
tranny= 217
collant= 212

the tranny temps are all I would worry about. just bypass the radiator and run the biggest B&M trans cooler with fan and you should be good to go. I didn't use the suppied thermostat with my trans cooler and run the fan wide open all the time.

It is HOT out right now, but it doesn't sound like you sat in really bad traffic where things really heat up. Otherwise, I would say those temps are fine. Yesterday I saw a max temp of 194* doing the same type of driving. For comparison, I saw 210* sitting idle for 1/2 hour on asphalt a few months ago. It slowly creeps up and then starts to taper off just a bit.

What are your fans set at, and do you have a 160 thermo?

Those temp are fine at 100 outside...don't forget that oil starts lubricating at 212.

The fans turn on when the car is started.

yes i have a 160 stat. The problem is the temps never tappered off. They just keep going up.

What worries me is i can not "have a little fun" in the car because the temps go up and never com back down on the oil and tranny temps. The coolant does come back down when i am moving around 60 MPH+.

ok i went for another drive. outside temp= 87

Lite traffic to the freeway. Drove an extra 5 mins (than my frist post). Other than the extra 5 mins of driving i drove the same as in the first post.

coolant got to 210 (with A/C on)coolant would drop while driving though)
oil got to 228 (never dropped just went up)
tranny got to 239 (never dropped just went up)

I parked the car in the garage and let it idle for 10 mins

oil came down to 214
coolant came down to 196
tranny dropped to 234

I'll bet everyone of you guys with the heat issue has a single front mounted intercooler.
Both LPE and Procharger designed their systems with twins for a reason!

I have a big front single mounted intercooler and have no heat issues at all and never have. I opened up the front plate area so no worries about max airflow through there and keeping things cool.

the spal fans i am running:

New for 2009! We completely re-designed our C5 fan package to utilize a lazer cut aluminum shroud. The shroud incorporates (4) four rubber flapper valves to improve air flow at high speeds and close at slower speeds. Two Spal 12" high performance fan provide 3200 cfm, which doubles the factory output. What makes this really cool is DeWitts customized the fans with matching Corvette fan plugs, so no cutting or splicing is required.

thanks for the comments so far all....

I don't think that's the issue, because I have the single front mounted intercooler too, and have never experienced high temps.

One nice thing about the front mount singles is that whenever the radiator or air conditioning fan is running, you have air flow across the intercooler. These fans do nothing for air flow at low speeds on the twin side mounts.
