Default A little teaser

So, I have been working on my car again......it never stops. It actually started with my clutch slipping when in boost. I am rather pissed about that one since it was recommended by a reputable vendor on this site, but that is for another day (less than 8k miles on the clutch with no track time). I also want to make the car look better as far as wiring and getting rid of the goofs from the shop that did the initial install. So, with no clutch holding power, now was the time to take the car down.......again.

I have always thought that my car was not making the power it should, compared to cars on here. That got me determined to get rid of some restrictions that I was pretty sure causing the problems. My setup is one of the Halltech TT kits that I bought from a member here. When being tuned, the car would just fall on it face ~6000 RPM and couldn't ge more than 650rwhp on 14psi. This is on a 403 CI motor too!

I started looking at turbos which were the Turbonetics t3/t4 BB turbos. They spooled nicely, but I thought they were the biggest part of the problem. Limited by the size of the downpipe and who knows how much back pressure was behind them, they were the first to go. I wish I measure the back pressure for comparison sake. The new turbos are BW s362 with the extended tip technology. With the t3 flange, I don't know if I really could of gone larger and have it fit under the hood. These turbos are good for around 700hp a piece, so that should be plenty anyways.

The next restriction, I thought, was the downpipe. I think it measured in at 2.5 in. I found a performance shop in the area that would take on the task of making me some 3 in DP. Today, they finally finished which is where the teaser pic comes in. They did a great job and I am excited about getting the car back on the road. Here you go! Sorry for the crappy camera phone pic. The welds do look really good!

In the end, I am getting a new twin disk and have everything needed to run the car on e85. When I get the car back and have more done to it, I'll update this thread.

I need to replace my Tex single with a twin disk and have been looking at clutches. We are making similar power, so which clutch failed you. PM me if you don't want to go public.
Thanks

I had the RPS single.

I am fortunate to be close to the guys that make the monster clutches, so I am kinda working/looking at what they are offering.

Nice new upgrades you have going, I went through a RPS single a few years back and like the Text Twin, but would be good to get some Monster clutches out in the FI world to see how they hold up

LOL on the teaser. Give me a few weeks and I'll have everything together. I am embarrassed of how the engine bay looks, so I'll get it cleaned and show better pics of the finished product.

Stay tuned on the Monster clutches.

I hate restrictions too, Matt. Hopefully I got rid of all them.
