okay now i'm having a tough time picking between the following. can someone please tell me if there are any significant differences in the two or why i should justify the extra cash for the Dynojet unit. thanks.

I don't care for the Autometer widebands. They're too slow and you might as well forget about trying to do cold idle tuning or monitoring. I also don't care for the 0-4v output vs. the 0-5v.
I like Innovate and NGK for tuning.

i plan to let vengeance do the install & tuning for my FI kit but would like the comfort factor of seeing a/f once it leaves their shop. i want the autometer cobalt series gauges and i'm just trying to match them up best i can. i can get the:

autometer cobalt boost gauge

autometer wideband

autometer dual pillar

for $400 total to my front door. the price just seems too good to pass up for new stuff.

Well considering the criteria, sounds like you've picked the right stuff.

from what i understand they both use the same Bosch o2 sensor. i'm not inclined to mess with anything related to electronics and FI on my vette, just feel if i am paying that much for a kit why not pay a few hundred to see what 's going on. cheap insurance at best, IMO.

thanks!

btw i love your vette, what a beast.

I only use the PLX Devices due to the unique gauges and also the ease of install. Only power and ground and plug in the sensor and your rolling.

I know that you like the Autometer looks, but you might want to consider other alternatives. I have the Innivate LC-1 with XD-16 wideband and it works great (fast and accurate). I also have the SPA duel fuel pressure/vacuum gauge and it also works great. Both the XD-16 and SPA gauge are digital and can be programmed with alarms. I have done this with the SPA gauge so that an alarm will flash if my fuel pressure drops below a given level. I also like the SPA feature that locks your maximumins so you can retrieve them. This is useful for checking maximum boost. I haven't programed the XD-16 yet, but it looks like you can program the gauge to flash if the AFR falls out of a specific range at WOT.

My experience with gauges is that things are happening pretty fast when under boost. It is hard to monitor the gauges and keep your eyes on the road at the same time. The alarms give added protection.

The autometer may not be the best thing out there for reasons mentioned above, but it is more than adequate. I used mine for all of my tuning.

Get what you like and then verify it's accuracy on a dyno with the shop's wideband.

The Wideband Commander 2 is the best!!!! It has built in programmable warning light and alarm-so if you don't see the light-you'll hear the alarm!

There expensive but well worth it.

We like the NGK for how accurate it is and the longevity.

I've had nothing but trouble with Innovate. I ditched it a long time ago and have Autometers in both my supercharged truck and my Corvette. Great quality and very dependable. I like the looks too. I'm sticking with Autometer.

Just curious regarding the Auto Meter limitations. I would like to learn more about this. Is it just your experience, or are you aware of any review that compared the different models, including the Auto Meter Nexus line in addition to Cobalt.
