Default LS6 Block Strength

I'm interested in hearing how far and for how long forged ls1/ls6 blocks are being pushed. The engine builder I talked to a while back prefers the ls2 block. Who is pushing 800-1000rwhp on an ls1-ls6 block?

Made 787rwhp on a STOCK LS6 block and internals. No issues. Going for more power so we yanked the setup but,...if the internals held up well at that level, I am more then sure this block will withstand 1000rwhp.

Proper fueling-tune are key in ANY combo.

This is kinda what I was thinking.

As far as reasons to do it? Cost and simplicity come into play. I'd like to build a low cost, strong engine and let the boost make the power.

LS2/LS3 swaps are going to require a new block plus new covers and I believe some sensors.

Peter Pan(Steve) on here has 749rwhp on his LS6 going on 4 years and like 15000 miles. And those are hard miles. He drives like a madman..

I'm really more interested in the 800-1000 range. I know people are making 700rwhp on stock longblocks.

Sounds like you're trying to do 800-1000 on a budget.

Bad idea.

LS3/L92 blocks have to much core shift, I believe the LS9 block is different from LS3/L92.

Those that are running their ls1 and ls6 blocks. Who actually races (not occasional street WOT) Who races on a regular basis? I'd like to see the internals after one full season of drag racing. Elsewhere (other tech related sites) people see a lot of walking in the mains. Even on iron blocks.

Would a LSX engine main girdle be a cost effective help?

Is it worse than the LS2? How about the LSX block?

If your going to be racing on a regular basis, go with a 6.0L iron block..

I did. It's in the break-in stage right now. I just wish I'd dowel pinned the mains and o-ringed the block but I didn't intend to push this one that hard originally.
