Default SC theory ?

has anyone ever thought of making the SC use independant belt...

Like hookup another pulley to one of the rotating ones and hooking that up to the SC... this will eliminate issues that if belt messes up then u can't drive the car.

No, the flip drive uses a longer AC belt to drive a double pulley then the power steering and altenator runs off the 6 rib side of the double pulley. That makes the blower, water pump, crank run off of one belt. It is a great system do a search flip drive see pictures and info.

Probably not in cooler weather on the highway, but in stop and go traffic and high heat, probably would.

Since you're in Miami its a good possibility, however keep in mind that electric water pumps only run at one speed, so they do not cool as well as the belt driven pumps at higher speeds, only in stop and go traffic.

Also, electric water pumps can blow a fuse and stop working.
