Need advice.
The owner of the shop suggested that the car would make more power with a 7lb pulley. Based on his advice I told them to go ahead and do the work (install the larger pulley and fix the squeal).
When I picked the car up the owner explained that the car was “detonating” with the 7lb pulley and that it needed larger fuel injectors to run right; therefore they simply reinstalled the 5lb pulley.
The shop charged me $1,000 CDN for the work. The owner also stated that they would charge me another $1,000 for larger fuel injectors and tuning - if I would go ahead with this work.
I am new to this “stuff”. What do you guys think I should do?
First off, where in Canada are you?? Secondly, I wouldn't pay that shop any more money! $1000 to replace a pulley and supposedly try another 7lb pulley! Something they're doing there isn't right! What model head unit are you running (P1SC , D1SC etc.) and what size injectors are in there right now? Do you have a boost-a-pump installed or aftermarket fuel pump?? PM me the name of the shop and so I can see if I know of them!

The shop owner said that he couldn’t stop/prevent the car from detonating with the 7lb pulley (and that tuning to make it run right was impossible with the existing fuel injectors)????
He said that he had contacted Procharger and based on the model head unit number, the supercharger was originally sold with the 7lb pulley.
I am not a mechanic and don’t have the model number, etc. right now (at work). Also, I don’t know if a boost-a-pump or aftermarket fuel pump has been installed – I am new to all of this stuff.
