Output shaft failure?

I assume its tranny output shaft that connects to gears, some refers to main shaft as well.
it usually break like pretzel, snapped thats it, car wont move, engine starts good, revs no problem, shift in gears no problem, car just dont move.
C6 z06 30 spline is a solution.

usually long side output snaps,they shear clean right past the end of the splines.You then get to fish the broken piece of stub back out of the halfshaft.Pops then freewheels,occasionally the car will feel like it wants to move if you have good diff clutch packs.Gears feel normal,but it rolls unless you set the brake.Plan on doing the clutch packs/preload springs when its apart.Here is a quick pic,I weld a bolt on the broken piece to extract.

Does anyone in here know where I can buy a left C6Z output shaft? All of the dealers are saying that I need to purchase the entire 400.00 assembly (boot, CV joint...) just so I can get the output shaft?

Sounds like there's some confusion with terminology. An output shaft would be a differential part, not a halfshaft part.

God thats awful. Know a friend this happened too. Worst part is probalby wasnt even a pass but a half hearted launch. Good luck getting it fixed.
