Always good to keep an eye on those parameters... You should also watch air/fuels as well. Check out my site for these pieces. below are links to 2 pages you should read.

They are not necessary, you can get by without them. However, as Brian said, they help you keep an eye on things. If you think something is wrong, you can look to see if you have fuel pressure.... If you think you are not making any power, check the boost gauge.

Not necessary if your tuner knows what they are doing but they help out for sure. I did not run them for the first few thousand miles after the blower but once I did it helped me realize a lot.

I think if i were to do it again i would mount mine in the glove box. They are good for diagnosing but honestly when im pushing the RPMs im paying more attention to the road.

i agree mine are in the ashtray beer panel, and i flip the lid down, keep your eye on the road if the car is running fine, or if you feel you need to look at the gauges then look but try not to look too much and stay focused on the street

Can be a good guide for little things being wrong. When I wasn't making boost last year, the gauge showed me the problem, and I sourced it to a hose that popped off. Now I'm having fuel pressure issues under load, and thanks to the FP gauge I can narrow the issue down.

I wouldn't boost a car without those gauges IMO.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Agreed, when at WOT I can't pay attention to the gauges. But some gauges have alarms. The SPA boost/pressure and Innovate XD-16 wideband have them. Very handy!

I've done both. I will never, ever run without fuel pressure and A/F ratios again. I never look at boost unless I'm not making much. Too scary to stick your head in the cockpit. But I do look at vacuum and small boosts.

I used a boost gauge and fuel pressure gauge for years on my last vehicle. Now that I have the FRC and the TTiX kit, I run without gauges. I hook up an external boost gauge and wideband when on the dyno or tuning on the street. After the tune is dialed in, I just drive the car. I like to pay attention to other things during WOT.

Don't get me wrong, they come in handy, but my personal choice is to not have them mounted for everyday use.
