Default LS7 clutch install help please

Took my C5 clutch out of the bottom of the bellhousing but the C6 Z06 (LS7) clutch won't fit back in without removing the bellhousing.

Am I missing something or is the LS7 clutch just a little bigger and requires removal of the bellhousing?

Thanks, Randy

If you have them both out of the car, why don't you put one on top of the other and see if there is a difference.
And, are you talking about the inspection sheild/plate? Your trying to remove and sneek in a clutch through that? Try some vasaline.

Try this, remove the the FRONT cradel REAR bolts, looesn the front ones half way, and remove or simply loosen the bellhousing. Your already there, might as well spend another ten-15 minutes and do it like that.

It only takes about 15 minutes to remove the bellhousing. Plus it makes torquing the clutch bolts down much easier. Now the hard part is putting the bellhousing back on. You will need some swivel sockets and a long extension and some patience.

Have fun. That bolt up by the fuel lines is INSANELY hard to get on and tightened...lol.

Yes, All you need to do is drive in the pins in the flywheel as far as you can. Then rotate the flywheel till 1 pin is near the top and the others are at roughly the 3:30/8:30 position. slip the flywheel up and in first then slide the disc in between.
